ad hanc ultimam diem

And, hey, look, my old blogspot! You know, that happy feeling when you find something you fancied a long time ago - except (pics of) an ex-girlfriend. Nah, didn't win the lottery, didn't even buy a ticket. Do not challenge the Gods.

Excitement: I'm going to live on my own! Nestling in my own property! I can even pinpoint "my place" on the globe! No parents or other interfering relatives within a range of 20km (twenty = an infinite distance in little Belgium), wholly and financially independent, l'Amour, Fraternité et Liberté partout!

Down to earth: For 8 years now I've already been living on my own, and I am fin.indep. for 4 years, but not 100% (eg: I never had to steam a shirt myself, and there is this very little loan at a tiny interest rate my parents gave) and my brother is moving in for at least two years. This can only be faze II. One day, I'll be living in Milano or Roma or Berlin or Montreal and then... !!

Underground: the carpenters, plummers, etc... are behind shedule - and I'm thrown out of my little rented place on 29th august, I'll have to repair and clean up for an estimated 257 hours before it can be a "habitat unit".
It's called life.

What is a sound person to do if he feels the urge to give way to xenofobic ideas? Rationalize them - and hoping for the politically correct conclusion that such is nonsense? Ignore them - not listening to the nagging little bits of "confirmation" you encounter daily?
Are Chinese people indeed smelly, passive and ignorant? Are the Maghreb people illiterate, criminal and bad drivers? Is a 5 year old Alfa better then a new Fiat?
It might just be a question of probability:

People who are smelly, passive and ignorant:
Scandinavians: 10,54%
Morrocans: 10,50%
Madrilenes: 9,57%
Jettenaren: 8,29%
People taller than 1,720 mm: 87,02%
Dog owners: 102,31%
etc...

Anyhow, some people I've met were smelly, passive, ignorant, criminal, illiterate and very bad drivers. And those peaple weren't me on a bad morning.
